Information on personal data processing

Artlingua, a.s., with its registered office at Mánesova 28, Prague 2, Postal Code 120 00, Id. No.: 00 29 86 38, registered in the Commercial Register kept by the Municipal Court in Prague, Section B, File 459, processes personal data of internal and external translators and clients with whom it co-operates (hereinafter the “Data Subjects”) in relation to its objects of business (provision of translation and interpreting services) and thus acts as a personal data controller within the meaning of the GDPR and the applicable Czech legal regulations (hereinafter the “Controller”).

Personal data of Data Subjects are also processed, to the same extent and under the same conditions, by the affiliate company Translatio, s.r.o., Id. No. 24 24 24 97.

Within its business activities as a translation company, Artlingua, a.s. works with confidential documents that may contain personal data. However, it does not process and is not a controller of such data within the meaning of the GDPR and other applicable legal regulations.

The types of personal data processed, the purpose and term of their processing, the rights of the Data Subjects and the Controller’s contact details are specified below.

1. Personal data to be processed:
• name and surname;
• date of birth;
• mailing address;
• email address
• telephone contact;
• other contact details: Skype, Viber, WhatsApp, etc.;
• language skills;
• bank details;
• (tax) identification number for contractors who operate a business.

2. Purpose of personal data processing:
Keeping records in relation to the provision of services by the Controller to Data Subject or by Data Subject to the Controller, as the case may be, within the scope necessary for the purposes of the said co-operation, in accordance with the applicable legal regulations of the Czech Republic.

3. Legal grounds for personal data processing:
The Controller processes the above-specified personal data on the basis of its legitimate interest consisting in the conclusion and operation of its contractual relationships with the Data Subjects. If the Controller intends to process the data for any other purposes (e.g. direct marketing), the Controller shall request the consent of the Data Subjects.

4. Term of personal data processing:
The personal data will be kept for the term of co-operation between the Data Subject and the Controller.

5. Rights of the Data Subjects
In accordance with the applicable legal regulations on personal data protection, the Data Subjects may
– revoke the consent to personal data processing at any time if personal data are being processed on the basis of such consent;
– request from the Controller information on what personal data of the Data Subject are being processed;
– request from the Controller an explanation regarding personal data processing;
– request from the Controller access to the data and have them updated or rectified;
– request that the Controller erase the personal data; in such a case, the Data Subject acknowledges that this may affect further co-operation with the Controller;
– address the Controller or the Office for Personal Data Protection in case of any doubts about compliance with the obligations associated with personal data processing.
