Our beginnings go way back to the Velvet Revolution.
Back then, the Journalist Organisation’s Conference Services were transformed into a joint-stock company whose shares were owned by leading translators and interpreters of the time. The company changed hands several times after the departure of its first director. The last owners offered to sell Artlingua to Orange Tree, a translation company and Artlingua’s long-standing contractor, which was considered suitably reliable and professional to secure the agency’s future in the translation market.
Alžběta and Martin, the two co-owners of Orange Tree, decided to accept the offer and take both companies forward together. As a result, Orange Tree is currently the majority owner of our agency. Thanks to the close cooperation between our two teams, we have been able to take advantage of rapidly developing technologies to deliver outstanding results for some of the most demanding clients in the Czech market, such as the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Czech Television and the Divadlo International Theatre Festival.
We are headed by the chairwoman of Artlingua’s Board of Directors, Lucie Fajkusová.
Lucie completed a Bachelor’s degree in Foundations of the Humanities at the Faculty of Arts at Charles University. As the director of Artlingua, she makes sure that everything runs smoothly and that our clients are always completely satisfied with our work.
